Long Time

Long time, no blog. 2009? Shameful. I know I have much more to say than that.

Recently, I moved from Tucson, AZ to El Paso, TX. Why, you may ask? For one reason only: to be with my husband. He makes a daily journey to Juarez, Mexico for work and lives in El Paso. Being apart was just too hard, emotionally and physically. It quickly became evident that we depend on each other for so much. The fact is, we belong together! So we loaded up about half of our belongings and moved me from AZ last weekend. We're in a kind of small and very yucky apartment for the next 6 months (but who's counting?) and then will move into a house on the Westside of El Paso. I've already started looking.

Not looking forward to paying two rents for the next three months until the lease is up in Tucson, nor am I looking forward to packing and storing the rest of our things, but I'll worry about that another day.

For now, I am looking forward to exploring the EP area, especially the hiking trails in the Franklin Mountains. There is also a haunted cemetery that sounds interesting. And of course there's always shopping and restaurant exploration!

The neighborhood where the apartment is located is great for a couple of reasons: first, I can walk to the grocery store! Second, there is a Chinese restaurant right next door. That may end up being trouble for my diet, which has lately been terrible and my body is showing it. It is a shame for summer to almost be upon us (in the Southwest, anyway!) and to be so uncomfortable in my own skin. Hopefully the walking will help that situation.

Did I mention we have no yard for the boys?? This means multiple walks per day for each of them, separately since Angus' chronic back problem has become so bad. They are horridly spoiled and completely used to going out whenever they felt the slightest urge (even if that urge was just to sit in the sun or bark at birds--I'll let you guess which one likes which activity) and Calvin is a little confused but thrilled with all the walkies.

So, to sum up: happy marriage, crappy apartment, weight issues. My own version of the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.

Hopefully I'll be back and blogging again before 2013!
