Did you know Cover Girl is 50 years old? I remember when it was considered a newer brand...in the 70's. Remember the 3 pan blush? The slightly medicinal smell of the liquid foundation? The black eyeliner, that when lit with my illicit cigarette lighter, would go on so smoothly on the inner rim of my eye. I grew up with their makeup and still go to their mascara from time to time, if only for nostalgia.
But recently I did try their line of "mature skin" makeup, the one that promised not to settle into fine lines, the one sold to us by likeable Ellen DeGeneres . It was given to me by BzzAgent, a great site that lets you express your opinion about multiple products and services. While I certainly appreciate the product and what it proposes to do, it did not, unfortunately, work for me. All the typical problems occurred: concealer settled into fine lines, colors weren't particularly natural or forgiving, my skin seemed to drink it in, even with primer.
It really is too bad, since this "cover woman" was hoping Cover Girl would have what I was looking for.
I wish Cover Girl a happy birthday!
